Our Roots

Built by media experts. Designed for digital audiences.

Before founding Modem, our team spent more than two decades developing and producing television for many of the world's leading broadcasters and streaming platforms. Collectively, we've worked on global entertainment franchises including The Voice, Love Island, Strictly Come Dancing, Too Hot to Handle, The Circle and projects for Netflix, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, NBC, Peacock and Snap Originals. Being part of these huge productions, pitching and commissioning formats, has shown us how to shape the future of content. The best businesses aren't built around individual pieces of content. They're built around repeatable formats, valuable intellectual property and audiences that grow over time. Today, we're applying those same principles to a new generation of media businesses.

Our Model

From production to ownership.

Traditional production creates great programmes. We want to create great companies. Modem partners with creators to build businesses they can own, not just audiences they can grow. Alongside those ventures, we develop original formats, YouTube channels, podcasts, documentaries and entertainment franchises that become long-term assets for the studio. Every venture strengthens our ability to create original IP. Every piece of IP strengthens our ability to build future ventures. It's a model designed to compound over time.

How We Work

Three connected pillars.

01
Original Media & IP
We develop creator-led entertainment, digital formats and original intellectual property for broadcasters, streamers and digital platforms.
02
Studio Services
We provide production, development and strategic support for creators, brands and media companies. These services generate cash flow, strengthen relationships and create opportunities to build future ventures.
03
Creator Ventures
We partner with creators to launch businesses across commerce, technology, consumer products and digital media, taking a long-term ownership position in the companies we build together.
Why Modem

Broadcast craft. Creator economy instinct.

We're equally comfortable developing a television format, launching a creator business, producing a live stream or helping shape the commercial strategy behind a new media company. That combination is rare. Our background in television gives us a deep understanding of editorial excellence, production at scale and format development. Our experience in the creator economy has shown us how audiences are built, how communities create value and why ownership matters more than ever. Together, those disciplines allow us to build businesses that aren't tied to a single platform or moment in time, but designed to endure.

Partners

Who we have built with.

Love.watts
Love.watts
We've worked with Love.watts across a range of formats, including a branded long-form concept his team can now bring directly to brands for sponsorship opportunities.
Save Our Scene
Save Our Scene
We developed a suite of recognisable formats and built the design assets that let Save Our Scene connect instantly with music and festival culture. We're now developing and producing an ongoing documentary following their work protecting grassroots music venues, directed by the team behind Coldplay's Wembley Stadium broadcast, the same show where Save Our Scene secured a commitment of £1 from every ticket sold to the Live Line fund they created.
Sam Hulme
Sam Hulme
A social series and creator-led product venture with a men's fashion creator and a following of over 200K, expanding his brand beyond content.

Yes The Basics is the first creator venture we pitched to Sam and are now building together: a community brand for his highly engaged audience, whose demographic lines up closely with the brand we've created with him.

Looking Forward

We build what's next.

The next generation of media companies won't simply produce content. They'll own audiences, intellectual property and the businesses built around them. That's what we're building at Modem Studios.

Born in broadcast. Built for digital audiences.
